For the foreseeable future, all new Art Conductor for Cubase releases will include both the legacy format and the new Expression Maps at no additional cost. That means you're free to keep working exactly as you do now, or transition your templates and projects to the new maps whenever it suits you.
Full control
All expression maps follow the same logic. The remote key switches for core techniques are always placed on the lowest octave. You'll quickly learn that Spiccato is always on E, no matter which library you're using.
The remaining key switches follow the natural order of the instrument.
In Cubase 15, you can move a MIDI part from one instrument to another, and the articulations will continue to work seamlessly. Imagine how much time you save when building arrangements or auditioning different libraries with the same melody.
Every expression map is available in both Directions and Attribute styles, so you can work in the way that feels best to you.
Everything is in perfect order
All articulations are sorted alphabetically. We've standardized technique names across all libraries. For example, Long and Sustain are always called Long, because they describe the same articulation.
We use custom-built software to arrange articulations in the optimal order, automatically generating consistent short names and notation symbols.
Colors are used subtly to improve clarity and overview. In Art Conductor, articulations are color-grouped. For example, all short articulations are red.
Put simply: doing this by hand with Cubase's built-in tools would take months.
